Tuesday’s feature at Shelbourne Park was the final of the May Monthly Novice ON2 525 boasting a wonderful €3,000 prize and Shaun Conway and young owner Harroson Cawley had reason to celebrate as Crash Bang Will emerged a tremendous winner.

A good runner-up in her two previous starts in the stake, she got her head in front on this occasion, showing good early dash to lead from the bend. Once doing so, the result was never in doubt. Maintaining a strong gallop right to the line, the daughter of Priceless Jet and Luna Rocket saw off Hackney Dino by three lengths in a quick 28.52.

Magical Warrior, the hot favourite, was a neck further adrift in third. Given the rapid progress of Crash Bang Will, it seems safe to assume she will show further improvement in the coming weeks and is certainly one to keep an eye on.

SOPHIE GOES QUICK

Later on the card Conor and Edmund Nugent’s Brayview Sophie came in as a reserve to post the fastest time of the night in the semi-finals of the Shelbourne Regulars A2 525.

She broke smartly from two and asserted into the bend to enter the back straight with three lengths in hand. The daughter of Ballymac Cashout and Highview Mission was relentless up front and pulled away in the closing yards to win by an ever-extending five and a half lengths from Sparta Pro in a very quick 28.40.

The second heat wen the way of William White’s Curraghmoredaisy (King Sheeran/ Knockmitten Bawn) as she shook off the early challenge of Outfielder to win by two lengths in 28.62.

SISTER FASTEST IN DUAL DISTANCE

Preferthesister was a good winner of his semi-final of the TOTE Betting A3 Dual Distance over the 550yd trip.

Always to the fore for owner Declan Beary, the son of Grangeview Ten and Wise Eruption went on to beat the always prominent Group Silverware by a length in 29.83.

Paul Higgins’ Clashroe Ted (Orchestrate/ Highview Audi) motored down the back straight to take the second semi-final. Moving to the front before the third turn, he went on to see off Itsnotanoption by a length and a half in 30.08.

SWIFT RUN FROM TAIL

The wonderfully named Tail Or Swift (Dromana Bucko/ Illa Tahin) was fastest in the semi-finals of the Tuesday Racing @ Shelbourne A4/A5 525.

Making every inch in the second heat of the stake after a flying start from the inside box, she held off Aussie Connect by a length in 28.82 to win for Barry Clancy and the Barrystown Wheelies Syndicate.

The other heat saw Jerry Daly’s Beat Ot Slow claiming a narrow victory over Highview Will. The pair were separated by just a heads in 29.32.
