YVONNE SET TO SKYDIVE FOR TIPPERARY HOME FOR HOUNDS

Most of us involved in the sport of greyhound racing will be more than familiar with the work of leading photographer Yvonne Harrington. 

A true greyhound enthusiast, she has long been heavily involved in the sport with her love for dogs always shining through. 

Well, it seems Yvonne is feeling adventurous and has decided to do a skydive in aid of the new Tipperary Home for Hounds. 

Tipperary Homes For Hounds was set up earlier this year when the Tipperary Greyhound Owners and Breeders Association, Clonmel Track and Thurles Track joined forces to set up a programme to rehome dogs that raced or are owned in the Premier County. The initiative also includes a local fostering programme.

It really is a tremendous initiative and one that Yvonne is firmly behind and she is looking for your help to raise as much funds as possible through a gofundme page.

“Hi my names is Yvonne and I'm raising funds to help find homes for retired Greyhounds.

I’M JUMPING OUT OF AN AIRPLANE!

Clonmel track, Thurles track and Tipperary GOBA have come together and have formed a body to rehome greyhounds that have raced at either of the county’s two tracks or are from within the county.

This is a prototype that if successful can be rolled out to other parts of the country where interest is already being shown.

Since it’s inception earlier this year, 28 dogs have been found homes.

As with all things funding is needed. A well supported benefit night was held on the 3rd of May at Clonmel track and the next step in fund raising is my parachute jump on Sunday the 13th of July.

Later in the year a benefit night will be held in Thurles track.
