Monday, July 20th is a day to put in the diary for those that can make it to Enniscorthy as they remember one of their own, Ruth Hatton (Codd).
The night will act both as a wonderful way to remember Ruth but also raise funds for a couple of causes that were close to her heart.
The Hope Centre provides cancer support for so many in the area and will benefit from the night as will Duffry Rovers GAA and Camogie Club, of which Ruth was an active playing member and coach for many years.
Her daughter Linda is running a gofundme to raise funds and you can donate by clicking the link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ruth-hatton-memorial-night?attribution_id=sl:a264cbd0-38c6-45a4-981c-8f8202ef0d40&lang=en_IE&ts=1781442133&utm_campaign=fp_sharesheet&utm_content=amp20_t1&utm_medium=customer&utm_source=facebook
Speaking on the GoFundMe page, Linda goes into more detail:
“Hi all my immediate family and I are inviting you to come the Enniscorthy Greyhound Track on the 20th of July 2026 to honour the memory of Ruth Hatton (Codd)- a beloved mother, friend, neighbour, greyhound trainer, coach and carer whose kindness touched so many lives. Ruth was someone who showed up for everyone. Now, we want you to show up for her.
This GoFundMe has been created to support the Ruth Hatton Memorial Night, helping to cover event costs and raise funds for two causes close to her heart (The Hope Centre - which provides cancer support to so many in our area and Duffry Rovers (as a founding member of the Camogie Club). Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us celebrate her life in the meaningful, generous spirit she was known for.”
Why We’re Fundraising
