While much of this evening’s racing has been cancelled due to the weather, conditions are more comfortable in Dublin and tonight’s Shelbourne Park card is set to go ahead.
There are some promising youngsters on show in the opening half of the card, while a couple of sweepstakes will ensure there is also plenty of interest in the later part of the evening.
YOUNGSTERS TO FIRE OVER TWO BENDS
Racing gets underway with three heats of the TOTE Betting ON1 350 and a number of supremely well-bred youngsters will make their debut.
The very nature of unraced sprints mean it’s impossible to forecast the likely outcome but it’s certain a number of talented trackers will emerge.
SUSIE AND HULK APPEAL
The semi-finals of the Talking Dogs TV A1 525 are races eight and nine on the card and Maireads Susie and Amidus Hulk are the likely favourites for their respective assignments.
Maireads Susie seems to improve every time she goes to the track and posted a rapid 28.33 last week. A repeat of that form will likely suffice and she is selected to lead home Kilcolgan Norman in the opening heat.
Amidus Hulk has superb early speed and can get off the front in Heat 2. His kennel companion Lamrock Ace can emerge as the main danger, although Hackney Shorts is also respected after a fine opening round effort.
