INTERESTING ACTION IN DUBLIN

Ian Fortune

Shelbourne Park is about to enter a crazy period with top class racing coming thick and fast until the end of the year.

The BOYLE Sports Champion Stakes kicks off tomorrow night and the TIME Puppy Derby on Tuesday but tonight’s card is also worth your attention.

SUSIE LOOKS THE NAP HAND

The last three races on the card are the opening round heats of the valuable Talking Dogs TV A1 525 and a number of very capable performers are on show.

Maireads Susie is nominated as the best bet on the card in the first heat.

A daughter of Droopys Sydney and Oaks and Derby winner Susie Sapphire, she is without doubt at her best when wearing red and is likely to make a bold bid from the inside box this evening. Her rivals include the talented Downtothewire but Maireads Susie is set to double her account for Hall of Fame handler Fraser Black and Joe Horan.

HULK CAN SMASH

The second heat is packed with talented types including the progressive and clearly very talented Amidus Hulk.

A winner in 28.57 (rated .20 fast) in his latest outing, he has since flown around Shelbourne in a trial, posting 18.54 for 350yds.

If translating that form to the track this evening he could emerge as the one to beat at the expense of Sure Exile, Droopys Punch and Ryee.

LAMROCK TO SERVE AN ACE

Lamrock Ace hinted at a return to his very best when last seen and he can come home in front in the final heat.

Ideally housed in the stripes, the son of Ballymac Cashout can race prominently from the outset before going on to see of the likes of Hackney Shorts, Kristofferson and Harlequin Paul.

DYNOMO WORTH A WATCH

There is also an interesting one-off A1 contest that features some potential Puppy Derby challengers. Toolmaker Dynomo got a bit lost in the early yards of his Dublin debut but flew home in defeat and could go considerably faster this evening.

If making a better start, don’t be surprised if he produces a big run from an ideal draw in the stripes. Boylesports Paul, Droopys Porter and Callaway Ryder all seem likely to come forward also but Toolmaker Dynomo has an exciting profile and is nominated as the one to beat.
