QUALITY FARE ON OFFER IN DUBLIN

Ian Fortune

Yet again, Shelbourne Park will offer up some superb Friday night racing this evening and the feature is the final of the TOTE Betting ON1 350.

A number of promising youngsters have come to the fore in the valuable unraced competition and tonight’s decider should make for wonderful viewing.

BRUNO TO STRIKE

Carrick Bruno set a strong standard in the semi-finals, getting loose early to win in rapid 18.57. Tonight, he moves off the fence and is drawn in three but should again be a big player. Of his rivals, Bushpark Lennie is perhaps the sharpest to the opening bend, while both Glengar Robin and Journalism will finish fast. Sovereignty stepped up markedly on his debut display to win his semi-final in 18.79 and he too is greatly respected, while She Takles Cash completes the line-up and may need a little luck.

It’s a tremendous contest but it is perhaps safest to keep faith in Carrick Bruno. Hi latest display suggests that he is capable of going on to bigger and better things and he gets the nod over Bushpark Lennie and Glengar Robin.

GOLD READY TO SHINE

There are two fascinating semi-finals of the BOYLE Sports Derby Starts Soon mini-open 550 and Bockos Gold can take the opportunity to remind the world of his immense talent in the second heat.

One of the stars of the Kirby memorial earlier in the year, he is in need of a confidence builder but looks the part tonight.

From a kind draw in two, he can flash from taps to see of some talented rivals including Harlequin Gee Up.

The opening heat is also intriguing. Should Gaytime Joachim put his best foot forward, he could have a big say in proceedings, while Boylesports Paul looks very promising and it would be no surprise to see him stepping up on his previous form.
